Integrating MARC Records for the ORL without an Integration

Like

Libraries are able to load Open Research Library (ORL) records into their catalogs via several automated methods. This includes integrations with EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), Primo, SirsiDynix, OCLC, and others. Alternatively, ORL records can be loaded directly via API, OAI-PMH, or OPDS feeds.

If a library does not have the ability to take advantage of one of these automated integrations, its team can still load ORL records into its catalog in a manual way.

To accomplish that, one needs to visit the following page: https://openresearchlibrary.org/metadata-info.

At that page, one can download the most recent machine-readable cataloguing (MARC) records by choosing the “here” hyperlink, as indicated below.

As soon as MARC records are downloaded to one's computer, one can manually load these records into any integrated library system (ILS).

At the ORL, new and updated MARC records are added every two weeks. One can load the entire catalog again, or only new records, through this same process.
