This paper discusses University Journals as a publication platform, in which university libraries are expected to be instrumental for achieving the aims of Open Science, and universities gain control over the publication process.

This paper suggests that collaborative initiatives, university consortia and library-supported repositories are likely to be key players in the transition to Open Science in Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as other fields of inquiry.
