It is notable that this webinar presentation considers platform sustainability and development as important aspects of Open Access-based scholarly commons. Moreover, successful Open Access platforms are likely to be drawing on institutional support and diverse funding sources, in order to deliver quality content, ensure its comprehensive indexing and offer value-added services. In this context, Open Access initiatives not based on article or book processing charges can be expected to rely on pooled funding and the Subscribe-to-Open (S2O) model, such as vis-à-vis libraries.
