As this paper suggests, Open Access models for journal publishing are likely to be amenable for promoting the dissemination of negative research results, which is likely to be de-prioritized due to publication costs, technological barriers and implicit quality requirements that high-impact journals are likely to impose. Conversely, the sharing of inconsistent, inconclusive or different empirical results among scholarly community members is strongly likely to have wide-ranging benefits, such as for hypothesis testing, about which there is a tentative consensus as well.
