It is notable from this policy document that France seeks to deploy Open Science to improve its positioning in cutting edge research fields, such as artificial intelligence. Whereas France has formulated its initial plan for Open Science in July 2018, that was followed by regular Open Access performance assessments, the creation of national digital, policy-making and funding infrastructures and support for international Open Access initiatives.
