Given that the European Union has become a global leader in the domain of collaborative research, its Open Science policies are also likely to be significantly different from those of the United States, a close second, or China, a distant third, as these will need to maintain both the openness of its research system and the growing rates of international cooperation across various scholarly fields, as comparative estimates suggest.
